PROJECT OVERVIEW

A predominant feature for Weedmaps across all its platforms is in its name "maps." It displays a lot of business types and amenities for a user to select. The filter options' purpose is to provide an efficient way for users to locate businesses within their geographical region.

DESIGN PROCESS

As a redesign, I spent a few days planning and researching the functionality of the existing filter system. Based on the information obtained, a user task flow was created, followed by brainstorming, wireframes, and personas to deliver a consistent design.

User Flow

Several attempts were made in grouping the filter options. First was trying to group the categories. The problem was identifying what options would be in each category. The second attempt is then coming up with a name for the sections once they have been grouped. Thus, a user flow was created to understand the structure better.

Filter Subcategory

Based on the business requirements, I broke down several of the filter options into categories. Each of the categories functions by allowing the user to select a set of choices to help them make their selections more accurate to their needs.
